EFGH and Vietnam Partner Launch VNL1 National Blockchain Platform for Product Traceability

Gate News message, April 17 — Embed Financial Group Holdings Pte Ltd (EFGH) and Digital Asset Protection HHP High-Tech Center JSC have established a joint venture to develop Vietnam's national blockchain infrastructure. The agreements, signed in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-April 2026, outline plans to create VNL1, a national blockchain platform designed to support the country's regulatory framework for product identification and traceability. The platform is expected to be mandated by Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security by April 2027. VNL1 is intended to address Vietnam's growing counterfeit goods problem, which saw production and trade increase by more than 47% in the previous year. Currently, oversight is fragmented across multiple government ministries, resulting in inconsistent data management. Built as a Layer 2 solution on Ethereum, VNL1 is projected to process more than 1,000 transactions per second at minimal cost, with infrastructure hosted domestically within Vietnam. The platform incorporates two core components: V-TRUST, designed to generate globally compatible product identification codes and record custody transfers using government-issued digital identifiers for tamper-resistant traceability accessible via QR codes or near-field communication; and V-STABLE, a sovereign digital settlement mechanism backed by the Vietnamese Dong with reserves approved by the State Bank of Vietnam, intended to facilitate real-time, low-cost financial transactions while preserving national monetary control. Beyond VNL1, both parties signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement establishing governance for six projects. The additional initiatives include an advanced fintech platform offering supply chain finance, embedded insurance, tokenization of real-world assets, and AI-driven credit analytics; a modular tourism kiosk system; a national commodity pricing and transparency platform; a sustainably powered data center and AI compute network; and a mixed-use development combining fintech, academic, and real estate components in Ho Chi Minh City's international financial hub. Project-level statements of work are required within 180 days from mid-April 2026. A joint steering committee comprising senior executives from both organizations will meet quarterly to monitor progress across all initiatives. The framework agreement runs for an initial three-year period with annual renewals thereafter. This collaboration represents EFGH's first venture in Vietnam and its first national-scale project in Asia, positioning the company to expand similar digital finance and blockchain initiatives across other regions, including Africa where it already operates.

Just spent way too much time researching hybrid lease deals and honestly, if you're trying to save on gas without dropping a ton of cash monthly, there's actually some solid options out there. Like, you can get into a Toyota Corolla hybrid for under $300/month which is pretty wild for how efficient it is. The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are both sitting around $341, so if you're torn between them it's basically just personal preference at that point. Both are reliable and honestly either one would work for a family car. The compact SUV crowd might want to check out the Hyundai Tucson hybrid at $325 - apparently it goes toe-to-toe with the RAV4 and CR-V but costs less monthly. Then you've got the Honda CR-V redesigned recently, getting around 35 mpg, which is pretty decent for a crossover. If you want something with a bit more attitude, the Ford Maverick pickup is the only American truck on the affordable hybrid lease list at $384, which honestly surprised me. Toyota's got two more worth mentioning - the RAV4 hybrid at $387 hitting about 40 mpg combined, and the Prius (the OG hybrid) just over $400 after the 2023 redesign. Look, leasing a hybrid means you're basically avoiding the repair headaches of older cars while still getting better gas mileage than conventional vehicles. If you're someone who just wants to drive something efficient for three years without worrying about maintenance, this hybrid lease route actually makes sense. The monthly payments tend to be lower than buying, even if you don't build equity. Anyone else been looking at hybrid lease options lately or am I overthinking this?

Just spent way too much time researching used sleeper cars and honestly, there are some seriously underrated options out there if you know where to look. Like, these vehicles look totally normal but pack insane power underneath. Started looking at some older Buick Regal GS models from around 2018 - 310 hp V6 with a solid chassis, and nobody would give it a second glance at a stoplight. Same energy with the Cadillac XTS V-Sport, which is wild because it's got 410 hp from a twin-turbo V6 but the exterior is super understated. If you want something that actually blends in, a 2017-2019 Ford Fusion Sport is perfect - just looks like any other sedan but has 325 hp under the hood. Got deeper into it and found some older gems too. The 2003-2010 BMW 550i is apparently considered one of the best sleeper cars ever - 362 hp from a 4.8L V8 and it's just quiet and subtle about it. Volvo made some wild ones too, like the V70 R with 300 hp from a 2.5L engine and crazy acceleration for a wagon. The newer Volvo V60 Polestar is similar, also a wagon with 362 hp that nobody expects. If you want something more modern, the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring hybrid is actually insane - 494 hp total and can tow 5,600 lbs while hitting 60 in about 5 seconds. And the Lexus GS F is honestly the ultimate sleeper car for sale if you can find one used - 467 hp V8 in what looks like a regular luxury sedan, high-quality interior too. The whole appeal is that sleeper cars let you have serious performance without the aggressive body kits or flashy paint. Kinda genius when you think about it. Anyone else into this stuff or is it just me?
