Brazil passes new law to incorporate confiscated cryptocurrencies into public safety special funds

Golden Finance reports that, according to market sources: Brazil enacted Law No. 15358 on March 25, 2026, allowing temporarily using seized crypto assets to fund public safety efforts before the final conviction of involved criminal groups. This includes purchasing police equipment, conducting intelligence operations, and training law enforcement personnel. The law expands judicial authority to freeze cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets, imposes penalties for using privacy tools in criminal activities, and strengthens cross-border crypto asset recovery efforts.
