Abdellatif Jouahri, the Governor of the Bank of Morocco, has stated that for the past 3 years, work has been underway to prepare draft laws to regulate the digital currency of the central bank and cryptocurrencies, with technical support from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.



Al-Jawahiri said in an interview with 'Al-Sharq' on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Washington that 'the draft of the cryptocurrency law is ready and awaits government approval to start the discussion process in parliament, which may take longer to study the expected internal impacts'.
