MasterCard is deploying support for simpler and safer cross-border P2P transactions.
Latin American and European users will be able to transfer funds across borders and domestically using various currencies and blockchains.
Instead of long and complicated blockchain addresses and suitable networks. Users only need to use their own pseudonyms and transactions.
When users start transferring funds, Mastercard Crypto Credential will verify that the recipient's pseudonym is valid and whether the recipient's wallet supports related digital assets and blockchain or not.
If the wallet does not support the asset or blockchain, the sender will be notified and the transaction will not proceed, protecting both parties from the risk of loss of funds.
In the future, it can be expanded to NFT, ticket sales, and other payment solutions depending on compliance requirements and the market.
