Many people, when they first see @ferra_protocol, might think that doing long assets on-chain with 50x leverage isn't new.
But in practice, it feels like it's not adding new features, but rather cutting out and rebuilding the entire fragmented trading process.
In the past, if you wanted to make cross-asset judgments, like expecting inflation to rise and wanting to move simultaneously in gold and tech stocks, it was actually quite discouraging to operate.
You'd either switch back and forth between different platforms or give up and just stick to the most convenient target.
It's not that you can't do it, but you're too lazy to bother, and there's no need to set up so many steps for one idea.
Ferra's approach is more like squeezing these originally scattered elements back into a single framework.
No need to think about how to split or transfer funds; margin is used collectively, and the opening logic is unified.
This change doesn't sound like much, but once you get used to it, you'll find your way of placing orders has changed.
Previously, you would choose a coin first and then find reasons.
Now, it's more like having a judgment first, then selecting how to allocate a set of assets.
Another quite intuitive point is that the sense of time has been flattened.
On-chain, only cryptocurrencies are available 24/7, but now looking at gold, forex, and others on one interface, you'll gradually get used to viewing them as the same kind of thing, rather than two different worlds.
It feels a bit strange, but after using it for a while, it becomes natural.
50x leverage isn't actually that important; it's more like an amplifier.
The key is whether there's an opportunity to quickly turn an idea into a position.
If every step gets stuck in the process, then no matter how high the leverage, it's useless.
Of course, there are still issues; the depth is currently average, slippage can still be felt at times, and it's hard to say what will happen in extreme market conditions.
It's still in a stage where it can be used but hasn't been fully refined.
But the direction is quite clear: it's not about creating more trading pairs on-chain, but about bringing cross-market trading itself onto the platform.
