Nikkei and S&P 500 at All-Time Highs: What Does This Mean for Crypto?

Japan's Nikkei 225 index closed at an all-time high of 58,134 points yesterday. In the US, the S&P 500 surpassed the 7,000 level for the first time, while the Nasdaq hit a new record high with an 11-day winning streak.

This rally over the past two weeks indicates a return of global liquidity to risky assets. A similar stock market surge in the 2021 bull run preceded this rotation of capital into crypto.

Three signals to watch for investors:
1. JPY-based stablecoin volumes — Japanese retail inflows generally accelerate after the Nikkei
2. Institutional inflows — ETF flows and futures open positions
3. Macro headwinds — Easing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz are suppressing energy prices and supporting risk appetite

Historically, momentum of this magnitude in equities has triggered a delayed but strong follow-up rally in Bitcoin and altcoins. The altseason narrative is back on the table with macro tailwinds.
