Let's talk about how this old guy keeps doing repetitive things, bringing over ten thousand U.S. troops to pressure the Strait of Hormuz, with a major conflict on the verge of breaking out, but then Trump suddenly calls a halt and prepares to restart negotiations.

The U.S. seems to be backing down, but in reality, it's a bluff: the war can be avoided, but deterrence must be fully maintained. Essentially, they still want to control the shipping lanes and seek benefits.

However, this time NATO countries are not convinced, and they have all stated they are unwilling to fight, unwilling to take the risk for the U.S. anymore. The U.S. can only threaten with limited force and dares not truly open fire.

Iran responds firmly, successfully gaining more leverage at the negotiation table.

Once again, it proves that hegemonic intimidation is ultimately limited. Standing on the side of justice means you won't fight alone. Countries that stand tall will never be easily intimidated.
