People's Financial News, April 6 — The Shenyang-Jiangmen Railway, connecting Shenzhen and Jiangmen in Guangdong Province, is an important part of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network's coastal corridors. Currently, the project has entered a critical construction phase. The Pearl River Estuary Tunnel of the Shenyang-Jiangmen Railway is an underwater shield tunnel for high-speed rail. During the Qingming Festival holiday, tunnel builders remained on site, with domestically-made large-diameter shield machines "Shenyang-Jiangmen 1" working tirelessly day and night to advance. "Shenyang-Jiangmen 1" has already bored over 4 kilometers, reaching a depth of 113 meters, setting a world record for the deepest underwater high-speed rail shield tunnel construction.
