Just read that Vitalik Buterin's wealth is estimated to be over $833 million according to Arkham. Wild, considering that the guy simply founded Ethereum in 2015 and most of his holdings come from that early allocation.
The calculation is actually interesting: he holds about 245,000 ETH, which still amounts to a fortune at current prices. In 2021, he was briefly a billionaire when ETH surged over $3,000, but since then, prices have been volatile, as we know. Still, Vitalik Buterin's wealth remains mainly tied to his crypto investments.
What surprises me: he claims to never hold more than 0.9% of all ETH, and that seems to be true. Compared to large exchanges and institutional players, he's relatively small. But his wealth is also supported by other investments like StarkNet and various tokens.
The $833 million should be viewed more conservatively – it could be significantly higher if un disclosed holdings and other assets are included. Quite impressive that Vitalik Buterin's wealth is still so strongly linked to Ethereum after all these years. You might think he would have diversified by now, but well, he's the founder after all.
