Just read that Konstantin Ignatov finally got out of prison last month after serving his 34-month sentence for the OneCoin scheme. This guy was basically running the whole fraud operation after his sister Ruja disappeared in 2017, and he literally admitted to lying under oath about ditching his laptop in Vegas. Wild stuff.

So the judge released him on March 5 and now he's got 2 years of supervised release plus has to forfeit $118,000. The crazy part? OneCoin was a $4 billion fraud, and Konstantin Ignatov was deep in it as the "de facto leader" after taking over from his sister. He even testified against Mark Scott, another OneCoin lawyer who got hit with 10 years and had to give back $392 million.

Meanwhile, other people involved are still getting sentenced. Karl Greenwood, the co-founder, got 20 years for basically promoting the scheme and making $300 million off it—which he blew on luxury stuff. And the head of legal, Irina Dilkinska, just pleaded guilty a few months ago facing up to 10 years. As for Ruja Ignatova herself? She's been missing since 2017 and is on the FBI's most wanted list. Some people think a drug lord might have killed her back in 2018, but honestly nobody really knows.

Konstantin Ignatov's case is basically wrapping up now, but this whole OneCoin thing shows how deep these crypto scams can go. Crazy that it took this long to sort out.
