Honestly, I hesitated for a long time whether it's even worth bothering with mining on a phone. But in recent years, there have been so many apps for this that I decided to look into it. It turns out, it's not entirely useless if approached wisely.
I'll start with the most popular one - CryptoTab. Installed, launched, and it's already running. The app itself begins generating hash rate, plus you can invite friends and earn from their activity. Not exactly fast, but it works.
Then there are cloud options — like a major platform that offers to rent computing power in a pool. Or StormGain — where you can even complete tasks and mine simultaneously. The downside is you need to restart every 4 hours, which is annoying. NiceHash is interesting because it shows real income through a calculator — helping to understand if it’s worth it. Bitdeer is chosen by those who take the process more seriously.
Current prices: BTC is around $67.12K, YFI about $2.45K. The easiest coins to mine are Monero, DOGE, Vertcoin, and Ravencoin — they have less competition.
But here’s the catch. Every mining program requires time — about 8 hours a day on average — to earn anything worthwhile. Plus, electricity bills can eat up all the profit. It’s even more complicated on an iPhone — Apple doesn’t really approve such apps, so mostly cloud solutions are used there.
My conclusion? If you have the time and cheap electricity, give it a try. Choose a mining app, create an account, link your wallet, enable 2FA for security, and see what happens. The main thing — don’t expect miracles. It’s more of a hobby than a way to get rich quickly. The market is evolving, technology is improving, maybe in a couple of years it will become more profitable. For now — experiment carefully.
