We're really worried about one of our permanent sanctuary residents, Buster. Today marks her fourth vet visit related to these concerning bumps.

Last night, we rushed her to an emergency vet because one of the bumps had worsened significantly and she was clearly uncomfortable. The vet wasn’t comfortable removing it at that time and mentioned it could possibly be sporotrichosis—a type of fungus (like mold) that can get into the skin and cause bumps or sores. It can be treated with medicine, but it can also look like other things, which is why the vets are being extra careful.

Today, Dr. Mazhoud evaluated her and believes the mass could be cancerous. We have scheduled surgery to have it removed this Friday at Porter Animal Hospital.

The estimate for the procedure is $765.84, which is a significant expense for a small rescue like ours.

Buster is part of our family. She depends on us to fight for her, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she gets the care she needs. If you’re able to help in any way—whether that’s donating, sharing, or even just keeping her in your thoughts—it truly means the world to us. We can’t do this without you. ❤️
