Have you ever wondered how much money actually exists in the world? Today, while researching this, I came across some interesting data.
The answer to the question of how much money there is in the global money supply actually depends on perspective. At a basic level, when all physical cash and liquid assets in bank accounts are included, we reach approximately $37 trillion. But this is just the beginning.
If we include investment instruments, derivatives, and the cryptocurrency market, the figure exceeds 1.2 quadrillion dollars. So, when you ask how much money is in the world, the answer varies depending on how you measure it. Just considering coins and banknotes, we're talking about around $6.6 trillion. But if we include bank deposits, bonds, and other liquid assets, the number needs to be expressed in dozens of trillions.
The truly thought-provoking part is this: what is our share within this enormous pool of money? 🫣
