Turkish Stock Market Sees Slight Decline

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s principal stock benchmark concluded the week at 12,698.19 points on Friday, reflecting a 0.23% decrease compared to the previous day.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index began the session at 12,802.98 points, ultimately losing 28.87 points relative to Thursday’s settlement. The index recorded a daily low of 12,601.60 and reached a peak of 12,825.01 during trading hours.

The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 hovered around 12.4 trillion Turkish liras ($279.5 billion), accompanied by a trading volume of 112 billion liras ($2.52 billion). In terms of stock performance, 32 companies on the index advanced, whereas 65 declined in comparison to the prior close.

Meanwhile, gold prices were at $4,530 per ounce, and Brent crude futures were exchanging at $111.4 per barrel as of 6.50 pm local time (1550 GMT). Currency rates stood at 44.4595 liras per US dollar, 51.3085 liras per euro, and 59.2100 liras per British pound.
