I would rather make one big high conviction trade than 20 small ones.


More trades does not mean more money.
Usually the exact opposite.
High frequency trader:
20 small trades per month.
Little conviction on each one.
Chasing premiums constantly.
Selling when not compelling.
More work. Less money. More stress.
High conviction trader:
1-5 big trades per month when compelling.
Deep research on each one.
Only sell when truly undervalued.
Position sized with real conviction.
Less trades. More money per trade.
Some months I make 1 trade.
Some months I make 20.
It depends on the opportunity.
If I see a really good trade I go hard.
If I do not see one I wait.
That is the whole system.
