i once complained about how most projects were using infofi (kaito) to cover up their mess, and it gradually turned out to be true.
many folks thought i was speaking out of pain or jealousy back then, but i’m glad things are clearer now.
infofi itself wasn’t bad, but the way most projects neglected their testers sharing peanuts with them while giving kaito creators the whole bag is what made it bad for this space.
about 80% of the projects that tokenized during the infofi era aren’t even seen on the timeline anymore. i doubt anyone is still using them today.
projects like magic newton, caldera.
these projects relied on infofi to keep things going for them. their success was tied to it, and they hardly built anything users would keep using once infofi was gone.
their execution was poor, yet kaito creators filled the timeline praising them as solid projects with great execution.
if kaito were still around today, perle labs would probably be getting the same treatment on the timeline.
you’d see many kols flaunting 4–5 figure gains, while testers are neglected, their voices unheard, and the same cycle repeating.
glad kaito is gone for the sanity of this space.
now it’s easier to spot bad projects and poor execution.
