Icardi shines by his absence at Wanda Nara's family dinner: when distance speaks louder than a thousand words

The media storm led by the most controversial couple in Argentine entertainment continues to generate repercussions, and this week added an unexpected chapter with the involvement of Guido Icardi, the footballer’s brother. What started as a televised revelation turned into a family gathering that shakes social media and rekindles questions about internal fractures within the Galatasaray player’s family.

The night Guido decided to tell everything

On Wednesday afternoon, Guido Icardi appeared on the TV show Intrusos to speak candidly about his relationship with Mauro. His words were blunt: “I know him very little and I think I completely don’t know him.” The brother didn’t hold back when discussing the cracks within the family, exposing conflicts that had been kept silent for years.

What no one expected was that that very night, Guido would be gathered again, but this time at Wanda Nara’s apartment in the Chateau Libertador building, sharing a table with his nieces Francesca and Isabella. Footage circulating on social media showed everyone smiling around the mate, enjoying a relaxed dinner with pizzas and empanadas. But the guest list is what truly makes an impact: alongside Wanda Nara and Guido were Maxi López, the host’s ex-husband, Martín Migueles, her current partner, and Nora Colosimo, the media personality’s mother.

“Getting to know my family,” Guido Icardi wrote in the stories he shared on Instagram, accompanying the photos with a smile that shows someone documenting a genuine family moment. However, the choice of words resonated differently in context: while the family was fully gathered, one was missing.

Icardi and the distance that defines him

Mauro’s absence from this family dinner is no accident. From Istanbul, where he lives with María Eugenia “China” Suárez, the forward has not commented on the events unfolding in Argentina. This silence contrasts with the tensions that years ago pitted him against his own brothers and father.

Guido was explicit in outlining this distance: it all began in 2011, when his parents decided to separate. At that time, Mauro was starting his career abroad, while Guido chose to stay in Rosario with his father. “We might have seen each other at some Christmas, birthday, once when he was in Switzerland during a Champions League match. We haven’t talked much,” the brother recounted, summarizing years of estrangement in a few sentences.

According to Guido, Mauro Icardi’s strong character and dominant personality gradually shaped this distance. “When he gets something in his head, he always wants things his way,” he described, painting the profile of a man who hardens as he achieves success.

The debate about Wanda Nara and changes in Icardi

One topic Guido addressed directly was the influence of Wanda Nara on his brother’s transformation, a speculation that circulated in the media for years. His response was categorical: “Wanda didn’t change him. I believe that when he reached fame, success… that’s when he shows who he really is.”

However, when the conversation turned to the violence allegations filed by the host, Guido softened his stance. He acknowledged that his brother has obsessive traits regarding his personal matters, but was firm: “I don’t think he would raise his hand against Wanda or have violent tendencies.” A defense that hints at the complexity of maintaining family ties amid conflicts of this magnitude.

When Icardi is invited but doesn’t respond

The brother revealed a detail that illustrates the extent of the distance: Guido personally invited him to his upcoming wedding, which will take place this year in Rosario. So far, Mauro Icardi has not responded.

Despite having accepted the distance as part of his daily reality, Guido expressed his hope that Mauro will someday play for Newell’s, his hometown club. It would be a way to bridge not only geographical but also emotional gaps. For now, with Icardi in Turkey and his family gathered without him in Buenos Aires, that possibility seems as distant as his own presence.
