Polymarket Bettors Sent Death Threats to Journalist Over $14M Iran Missile Bet
Emanuel Fabian, military correspondent at The Times of Israel, received death threats from Polymarket bettors demanding he change his report on a March 10 Iranian missile strike near Beit Shemesh.
Why?
Over $14M was wagered on "Will Iran strike Israel on March 10?" and the rules say intercepted missiles don't count as "Yes."
When Fabian reported a direct missile hit (confirmed by Israeli military), "No" bettors demanded he rewrite it as "intercepted debris."
When he refused, threats, bribes & intimidation followed.
One bettor warned: "After you make us lose $900K, we'll invest no less than that to finish you."
Polymarket's response:
→ Banned all involved accounts
→ Will share user data with law enforcement
