A lesson to myself this Saturday: people don’t really change.

You give chances, sometimes more than you should, because you believe in them or remember the good parts. But sooner or later they show you the same behavior again. The same patterns, the same excuses.
And the hardest part is realizing it wasn’t a mistake the first time you saw it. You just chose to believe their words instead of their actions.
This time I’m reminding myself: when someone shows you who they are, believe it the first time.
