National Health Commission promotes outpatient services for healthy weight management

According to CCTV News, the National Health Commission announced that all public tertiary general hospitals will provide health weight management outpatient services this year. Li Dachuan, Deputy Director of the Medical Administration Department of the National Health Commission, stated that weight is an important health indicator, and overweight and obesity are related to various chronic diseases. The Health Commission, in collaboration with multiple departments, launched the “Weight Management Year” campaign to encourage the establishment of health weight management outpatient clinics, providing professional weight management services to the public. Currently, more than 5,500 medical institutions above secondary level across the country have set up these clinics. In the future, efforts will continue to integrate specialized resources, improve diagnosis and treatment mechanisms, and promote the expansion of weight management services.
