According to Fortune, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), who has been incarcerated for 25 years, is attempting to seek a presidential pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump. Although SBF has recently been courting right-wing audiences, including an unapproved prison interview with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson (which led to his being placed in solitary confinement), and his father recently praised Trump's policies, insiders in politics and the crypto industry believe the chances of his release are "almost zero." Several lobbyists pointed out that while Trump has a friendly attitude toward the crypto industry and has pardoned Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, unlike Ulbricht, SBF has not received widespread support from the crypto community, making a pardon highly unlikely.
