Rajinikanth's #Thalaivar173 shoot to begin in mid-April, says director Cibi Chakravarthy!

(MENAFN- IANS) Chennai, Feb 24 (IANS) Cibi Chakravarthy, the director of Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated upcoming film, tentatively titled #Thalaivar173, has now revealed that filming for the much-awaited movie will begin in mid-April this year.

Cibi Chakravarthy, who took part in the pre-release promotional event of ‘Thaai Kelavi,’ produced by actor Sivakarthikeyan’s SK Productions, was specifically asked about #Thalaivar173 after his speech.

Initially reluctant to share details, the director said, “I will soon be saying ‘action’ and ‘cut’ to the Superstar. We plan to start filming in mid-April.”

It is remembered that the director had promised both Rajinikanth’s fans and his family about the film.

The young director, who participated in the pre-release event of Soundarya Rajinikanth’s film ‘With Love,’ said, “I am meeting all of you only now after the announcement of #Thalaivar173. So, I want to say something.”

“I want to say just one thing with love. As a fan of Thalaivar, I want to tell his fans and family, when you leave the theater after watching #Thalaivar173, you will do so with satisfaction. It’s a promise. Again, I say, it’s a promise,” he stated.

It is also recalled that Rajinikanth was recently asked about his eagerly awaited upcoming film with director Cibi Chakravarthy, produced by actor Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International. Rajinikanth said, “Shooting will start in April. It will be a proper commercial entertainer.”

The film has generated excitement since Kamal Haasan announced that his production company, Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), would produce it.

Originally, one of Tamil cinema’s most successful directors, Sundar C, was set to direct this film, which Kamal Haasan described as a magnum opus. However, unexpectedly, Sundar C decided to withdraw from the project.

In a statement titled “A Heartfelt Note to My Dearest Fans and Well-Wishers,” Sundar C said, “It is with a heavy heart that I share some important news. Due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, I have made the difficult decision to step back from the prestigious #Thalaivar173.”

He added, “This project, featuring the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth and produced by the esteemed Kamal Haasan, was truly a dream come true for me. Sometimes in life, we must follow the path laid out for us, even if it diverges from our dreams.”

Stating that his relationship with the two icons went back a long way, the director said, “I will always hold them in the highest regard. The special moments we shared over the past few days will be cherished forever. They have taught me invaluable lessons, and I will continue to seek their inspiration and wisdom.”

Sundar C, also the husband of actress and politician Khushbu, further said that although he was stepping away from the opportunity, he would continue to seek guidance from both stalwarts of Tamil cinema.

“I thank both of them from the bottom of my heart for considering me for this magnum opus,” he told Tamil cinema’s superstars before addressing his fans.

To his fans, the director said, “Please accept my sincere apologies if this news has disappointed those who eagerly anticipated this project. I am committed to making it up to you and promise to keep bringing you entertainment that lifts your spirits. Thank you for your unwavering support and understanding. It means the world to me, and I look forward to creating more memories with all of you.”

Soon after Sundar C’s departure, the producers announced that director Cibi Chakravarthy would be helming the film. The soundtrack, with the tagline ‘Every family has a hero,’ will be scored by Anirudh.
