Conduent Incorporated has partnered with the Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) to launch chip-enabled EBT cards statewide, making Alabama the first Conduent-supported state and second in the nation to do so. This initiative aims to combat EBT fraud, such as skimming, by allowing beneficiaries of SNAP and TANF programs to insert their cards into point-of-sale terminals for enhanced security. The new cards, along with features like the ConnectEBT mobile app and automated blocking of out-of-state transactions, are part of Conduent’s VeriSight Anti-Fraud Suite to protect public benefit programs.
