AEP Q4: Bets Big on Transmission Growth, Utility Sees Massive Data Center Demand

American Electric Power (AEP) exceeded Q4 earnings estimates with adjusted earnings of $1.19 per share and revenue of $5.314 billion, despite a slight decrease from the previous year. The utility is heavily investing in transmission and distribution infrastructure to meet a massive surge in demand from data centers and other large-load customers, particularly in Texas, and reaffirmed its strong operating earnings guidance for 2026.
