Canada designates multiple states in Mexico as "Avoid Non-Essential Travel" zones

On the 22nd, the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that due to violent conflicts in southwestern Mexico, the overall risk level for the country has been raised to “high alert,” and more than ten states in Mexico have been designated as areas to “avoid non-essential travel.” The Canadian Foreign Ministry stated that kidnapping and other criminal activities are currently prevalent in Mexico, and while attacks targeting foreign tourists are not mainstream, ongoing violent conflicts have posed a serious threat to public safety. Currently, transportation in the port city of Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding areas on Mexico’s western coast has been largely disrupted due to armed clashes. (Xinhua)
