Shares of air carriers were losing ground in early Monday trading, as a massive snowstorm forced thousands of flight cancellations and delays, as well as ground stops at multiple airports in the Northeast U.S.

With snowfall of more than 2 feet in some areas, including New York’s Central Park, there have already been more than 5,300 flights canceled within, into or out of the U.S., according to FlightAware, while 10,000 flights have been delayed as of early Monday.
