On February 5, 2026, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Liu Bin met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharib Abadi. The two sides exchanged views on the current situation of Iran’s nuclear issue. Liu Bin stated that China has always advocated resolving Iran’s nuclear issue peacefully through political and diplomatic means, opposing the use of force threats and sanctions pressure. China supports Iran’s legitimate right to peaceful nuclear energy use and notes Iran’s repeated reiteration that it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. China will work with the international community to continue promoting a proper resolution of Iran’s nuclear issue. Gharib Abadi appreciated China’s objective and fair stance on Iran’s nuclear issue and expressed willingness to maintain communication and coordination with China.
