The 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea continued on February 22. During the day’s meeting, the party’s constitution was discussed and amended, and members of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea were elected. The congress expressed full support and approval for the proposal to re-elect Kim Jong Un to the highest position in the Workers’ Party of Korea, and elected Kim Jong Un as General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. On the same day, the meeting elected members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Kim Jong Un, Pak Thae Song, Choe Yong Won, Ri Sun Hyok, and 135 others were elected as members of the Central Committee. (CCTV News)
