The State Council Safety Committee Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a special scheduling meeting, requiring a strict strengthening of safety supervision across the entire fireworks and firecrackers supply chain to prevent all types of accidents.
On the afternoon of February 18, the Office of the State Council Safety Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Management held a special dispatch meeting. The meeting pointed out that during the Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, fireworks and firecrackers are at their peak, safety risks are prominent, and the situation is extremely severe. All regions must raise political awareness, attach great importance to fireworks and firecracker safety work, deeply learn from relevant accident lessons, and immediately organize safety hazard inspections of retail stores (points), making every effort to ensure safety risk prevention and control. Strictly implement relevant regulations, strengthen safety management around retail stores (points), prohibit testing fireworks and firecrackers outside the stores, and prevent various accidents. Reinforce safety inspections of retail stores (points), strictly prevent “going down to the store and up to the residence,” overstocking, outdoor display, and crowd gathering, prohibit smoking or open flames inside the stores, and ban the sale of excess or prohibited products. Strengthen inspections of idle houses, warehouses, and other key locations to prevent illegal storage of fireworks and firecrackers, ensure smooth channels for public reporting, and severely crack down on illegal storage and operation of fireworks and firecrackers. Enhance internet monitoring related to fireworks and firecrackers, promptly remove and delete illegal information, and seriously investigate online promotion, offline sales, and illegal mailing of fireworks and firecrackers.
