February 4th is World Cancer Day. On that day, the French National Cancer Institute released the second roadmap of the “Ten-Year Cancer Control Strategy,” proposing that from 2026 to 2030, the government will allocate over 1.7 billion euros for cancer control. The institute stated in its bulletin that the second roadmap will further focus on five major priorities and five target populations to increase investment in the most critical areas for the public. The five priorities include cultivating a generation with prevention awareness, ensuring screening coverage for everyone, building an enhanced healthcare pathway, creating a public cancer service system, and unlocking the potential of research and data. The five target populations include adolescents, people with disabilities, residents of overseas territories, working populations, and the elderly. France’s “Ten-Year Cancer Control Strategy” was launched in 2021. This strategy is long-term oriented and implemented through two five-year operational roadmaps, aiming to sustainably reduce the impact of cancer on the lives of French people. (Xinhua News Agency)
