Institution: Global average selling price of smartphones in a single quarter first surpasses $400

On February 5th, according to the latest report from Counterpoint Research, in the fourth quarter of 2025, the global smartphone market revenue increased by 13% year-over-year to $143 billion, setting a new quarterly record. At the same time, driven by the ongoing trend toward higher-end devices and rising bill of materials (BOM) costs, the average selling price (ASP) of smartphones grew by 8% year-over-year, surpassing $400 for the first time in a single quarter. Shipments increased by 5% year-over-year, with overall performance remaining moderate, indicating that as more consumers opt for higher-priced devices, market growth continues to be driven by “value expansion” rather than “scale expansion.” (Jiemian News)
