In the cryptocurrency market, it's only a matter of time

Abstract generation in progress

In recent days, I’ve been hearing a wide variety of arguments about why we shouldn’t invest in Bitcoin and altcoins. Whenever someone raises a concern, my response is always the same: it’s really just a matter of time. But not in the way they seem to think.

The three major uncertainties that scare investors

Many present legitimate questions. Some say that Bitcoin will eventually disappear — maybe it’s true, it’s just a matter of time. Others warn that quantum computers will one day break the security of cryptocurrencies — that could happen too, it’s just a matter of time. And there are those who insist that all altcoins will lack value and collapse — yes, that probably will happen as well, it’s just a matter of time.

The reality is that impermanence is the only certainty in the universe. Humanity itself will not last forever. No technology is eternal. Not even the most powerful dynasties escape this natural law. Emperor Qin dreamed of unifying the six kingdoms and creating an eternal empire, but his dynasty fell in the second generation. Before unification, he didn’t worry about future decline — his mission was to conquer, not question the fate that cannot be challenged.

Why the logical structure of fear doesn’t solve anything

Here’s the crucial point: if you’re afraid of losing money, does avoiding investment really prevent loss? If you fear the disappearance of cryptocurrencies, does fear change the reality of markets? Fear doesn’t serve as protection — it’s just an emotion that paralyzes action, without changing the inevitable consequences.

Fear is just fear. That’s all. It can be named, analyzed, debated — but in the end, it doesn’t determine whether the market will go up or down, whether you will lose or gain money. Emotion is not a strategy. It’s just a matter of time until you realize that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but acting despite it.

Accepting impermanence is true liberation

The only absolute truth is that everything — absolutely everything — will come to an end someday. Cryptocurrencies may disappear. Blockchains may become obsolete. Altcoins may go to zero. But this certainty of death shouldn’t paralyze; it should liberate.

When we accept that everything is temporary, we stop wasting time trying to predict the unpredictable or prevent the inevitable. Emperor Qin couldn’t prevent the fall of his dynasty, just as we can’t guarantee the eternity of our investments. What we can do is act purposefully in the present, knowing that it’s only a matter of time.
