According to Guangzhou Customs, from New Year’s Eve to the fourth day of the lunar new year, Guangzhou port’s duty-free sales amounted to 18.17 million yuan, demonstrating strong New Year consumption momentum.
During the Spring Festival holiday, the crowds at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Terminal 2 were bustling. In the international departure hall’s duty-free shops, many travelers had already selected their preferred duty-free products and were queuing at the counters to check out.
In recent years, the combination of “cross-border travel + duty-free shopping” has continuously stimulated consumption potential. According to Guangzhou Customs, during the Spring Festival period (from New Year’s Eve to the fourth day), Guangzhou port’s duty-free sales totaled 43,000 items, with sales amounting to 18.17 million yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 23.5% and 34.5% respectively compared to the same period last year, making it a new highlight in the Spring Festival consumer market. Currently, Guangzhou has five duty-free shops, offering over 11,000 types of duty-free products.
