SLB OneSubsea wins Equinor deal to boost North Sea field recovery

SLB OneSubsea, a joint venture, has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction contract from Equinor to upgrade the subsea compression system for the Gullfaks field in the Norwegian North Sea. This involves delivering two next-generation compressor modules to replace older units, aiming to increase differential pressure and flow capacity, thereby enhancing oil recovery and extending the field’s operational life. The upgraded system leverages subsea gas compression’s benefits, including reduced energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions, to support Equinor’s long-term recovery strategy.
