Europe draws a mixed map in its main stock exchanges

European stock markets showed a mixed performance at this close, with winners and losers sharing the continent’s markets. While some key indicators retreated after reaching new intraday highs, the mixed picture characterized the main stock exchanges, reflecting sectoral uncertainty dominating the market.

European Indices: Contained Volatility at Close

The UK’s FTSE 100 initially surprised with a rise toward 10,373 points, marking a significant intraday high, but ultimately closed at 10,314 points, down 26 points, equivalent to a 0.3% decline. This correction interrupted a three-day winning streak that had characterized the London market.

Germany showed a similar pattern: the DAX index rose as much as 1.2% in early trading, approaching the 25,100 level, but pulled back to finish at 24,780 points, down 16 points (approximately 0.1%). This halted a two-session upward trend.

In Paris, the French CAC closed with a smaller decline, just 1 point lower at 8,179 points. The Italian market stood out with a positive performance, gaining 0.9%, while the Spanish market remained largely unchanged.
