Noble redefines its position with a strategic transition to an independent Layer 1

Abstract generation in progress

Noble, an innovative platform in the stablecoin universe, has confirmed plans for a profound technological transformation. The structural change involves migrating its infrastructure from the Cosmos ecosystem to a fully independent Layer 1 environment with EVM compatibility. This decision marks a turning point in the project’s trajectory, reflecting the pursuit of greater technological control and enhanced scalability.

Noble Dollar will consolidate the new network architecture

At the heart of this transition is Noble Dollar (USDN), the project’s native stablecoin. With the migration, USDN will assume a central role as a fundamental resource of the Layer 1 network, boosting its importance in the DeFi ecosystem. The stablecoin will function as a peg asset, facilitating liquidity and enabling integrations with decentralized protocols.

Commonware and Rust drive performance gains

The move to an independent Layer 1 allows Noble to implement the Commonware technological infrastructure, built in Rust, a language known for maximum computational efficiency. Complementing this choice, the Reth Ethereum client will provide compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem, removing barriers between communities. This technical combination aims to unlock superior transaction speed and significantly reduce operational costs.

Gradual strategy preserves continuity with Cosmos

Noble does not abandon its roots. During the transition of its operations to the new Layer 1 environment, the platform will maintain its original Cosmos-based chain and preserve the IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) protocols. This strategic approach allows for a progressive transfer of liquidity without disconnecting users from the previous ecosystem. Developers will have the flexibility to operate in both environments simultaneously.

Expansion on the horizon for Noble

The move positions Noble on a path of strategic expansion. With its own Layer 1 infrastructure and native EVM support, the platform aims to attract a larger number of developers and integrators. The question now is how this technological autonomy will impact Noble’s competitiveness in the decentralized stablecoin market and what will be its differentiator compared to other protocols on a similar journey.
