Rethinking DAO Governance: Why Concavity Matters in Decentralized Design

According to ChainCatcher, Vitalik Buterin has raised critical concerns about how Decentralized Autonomous Organizations have strayed from their original purpose. He emphasizes the urgent need to redesign and construct DAOs that are fundamentally different and more effective than current implementations. While Ethereum was originally inspired by DAO concepts, today’s reality shows that most DAOs have been reduced to simple token-voting treasury systems—structures that operate in form but fall short in function, remaining vulnerable to manipulation and ineffective in addressing the underlying challenges of human governance.

Beyond Token-Voting: The Current DAO Crisis

Buterin identifies a fundamental problem: current DAO models treat governance as a secondary concern rather than a core design principle.
