Techub News reports that, according to Financefeeds, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated on January 20 at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the U.S. government will cease all planned confiscation and liquidation activities of digital assets. He said that the Bitcoin held by the Department of Justice and the Treasury will be permanently transferred into the "U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve," and the more than 200,000 Bitcoin currently held will be regarded as a long-term store of value. Bessent also mentioned that the reserve will mainly grow through law enforcement confiscations rather than using taxpayer funds to purchase on the open market.
