#数字资产市场动态 The interconnection of digital currencies among BRICS countries—can it break the monopoly of the US dollar payment network?

Recently, the Reserve Bank of India has been promoting an idea: enabling interoperability of digital currencies among BRICS member countries. It seems like a technological innovation, but it actually involves deeper issues.

What is the current situation? Global cross-border trade and travel payments mostly rely on the US dollar channel. The result is long cycles, high costs, and frequent disruptions due to geopolitical conflicts. A few years ago, many countries' payments were frozen, exchange rate fluctuations followed, and both businesses and individuals suffered losses.

The core problem that BRICS digital currency interoperability aims to solve is actually very simple: peer-to-peer fast clearing. Skipping intermediate steps, transaction times can be reduced from days to hours or even minutes, and fees can also be lowered. For trading companies, this means faster cash flow and significantly reduced costs. For tourism and personnel mobility, it’s even more beneficial—no more being cut by exchange rate volatility.

From a macro perspective, this is building a new diversified path for the monetary system. As more emerging economies explore cross-border applications of digital currencies, the international payment landscape is quietly reshaping. $ETH and other crypto assets are also finding their positions in this process. The entire ecosystem is changing, and this is just the beginning.

This is the real breakthrough; the dominance of the US dollar should loosen up. The issue of the dollar channel being chokepointed is very real. Previously, when news reported that national payments were frozen, it was simply powerless... If the BRICS move is truly implemented, peer-to-peer clearing can be done in minutes, and the saved transaction fees could buy a good meal. This wave might be more solid than any stablecoin, after all, with central bank backing, we retail investors finally won't always get cut by exchange rates.

Oh, I've played this trick before. Faster liquidation = more arbitrage opportunities. When on-chain data comes out, it'll be another round of the yield game.

Sounds good, but can the BRICS really work together as one? I have my doubts. Speaking of the US dollar system, although it's annoying, it's deeply rooted. It's not that easy to shake. Finally, someone is thinking about how to bypass the US dollar. About time. Point-to-point settlement sounds great, but I'm worried the execution layer will just keep arguing... If this really happens, the entire payment ecosystem will have to be reshuffled. I'm a bit excited. Wait, the BRICS countries haven't even fully developed their own central bank digital currencies, and interoperability is another matter... The US imperialists won't sit still this time, haha.

Dollar dominance is finally about to be shaken up, and this time it's serious. Can it break through? The issue is execution; BRICS has been operating independently for too long. That line about "cutting leeks" hits directly; the era of middlemen profiting from arbitrage should be over.

The dollar hegemony has been punctured, is it our turn now? Wall Street definitely won't sleep well. The logic of peer-to-peer clearing, in simple terms, is about decentralization. Financial institutions are indeed having a tough time, but whether it truly materializes depends on whether each country's central banks are willing to let go. To be honest, whether the BRICS coin will be popular or not is another story, but this direction is correct. Finally, someone dares to touch the string of the dollar. Wait, what does this have to do with cryptocurrencies? Or are the central banks about to regulate the crypto space again?

To be honest, the US dollar system really needs to be shaken up; the hegemony has lasted too long. I support BRICS doing this.

Wait, can the BRICS digital currency really replace the US dollar channel? I feel like this is just another nice story, and reality will hit hard... But on the other hand, there is indeed arbitrage potential in peer-to-peer settlement, and early positions might really make a profit.
