Decentralized governance in the crypto space is always a challenging issue. On one side, there's the trap of pure voting systems—easily swayed by short-term emotions, where the majority's voice ends up ruining the project; on the other side, complete centralization, which goes against the original intention of Web3.

Some DAOs are trying a third way. Not all voting weights are equal; instead, knowledge-based weighting is introduced. It may sound like an elitist dictatorship, but actually it's the opposite—holders of tokens have voting rights, but proposals must be solid, with clear logic, sufficient data, and forward-looking insights to gain approval.

The key lies in flexibility. Retail investors may not want to participate in every decision? They can delegate their voting rights to trusted professionals, just like shareholders entrust power to the board of directors. For professional matters like technical audits, the community can also establish specialized teams to research, present data, and explain principles.

The benefits of this approach are obvious—managing billions of assets in a DAO requires professional operation. At the same time, dispersing power and open discussions help prevent a single person or small circle from dominating decision-making.

Whether this model can operate stably is a valuable case for governance practices across the entire Web3 ecosystem. Compared to a binary choice of either/or, this hybrid mechanism may be closer to a sustainable solution.

Basically, it's still a game of power—whoever holds the right to speak makes the rules. "Knowledge-weighted" sounds sophisticated, but in reality, it all depends on who defines "knowledge." Delegated voting... trusting professionals, no wonder some people are harvesting profits unfairly. Billions in assets managed professionally? I just want to ask, who supervises this?

It's the same old trick of delegated voting. Ultimately, it's a trust crisis. Once the voting weight changes, who defines what "solid" means... Probably just another way for big players to manipulate.

Here comes that "knowledge weighting" again, basically wanting only those who understand to speak, no wonder retail investors keep getting cut. That being said, delegated voting is actually a good idea, saving the hassle of watching proposals all day long.
