Control has always been the endgame. Fear breeds compliance—it's the oldest playbook in the book. Kingdoms rose on prophecy, empires thrived on making people believe their fate was sealed, predetermined.

But the tactics evolve. Today's prophecy wears a different mask: it's "expert consensus," the appeal to authority, "trust the science." The medium changes while the mechanism stays the same. One voice speaking for many. One narrative crowding out alternatives.

This is precisely why decentralized systems matter. They're not about rejecting knowledge or expertise—they're about rejecting single points of control. When consensus is manufactured rather than discovered, when dissent gets silenced in the name of unity, that's when we should ask: who benefits from my compliance?

Here comes that "Trust me, you'll make a fortune" rhetoric again --- Single-point control is always a fatal flaw, no doubt about that --- May I ask who defines what "consensus" is? --- Oh wait, think about it, can decentralized systems really solve this issue... --- Concentrated power always ends in failure; history repeats itself over and over --- It sounds good, but true dissent is still drowned out; just changing the track --- So the real issue isn't about going decentralized or not, it's about human nature --- The "expert consensus" meme has been overused for a long time, who still believes in it now?

Well said, the whole set of creating consensus is really disgusting. After hearing "believe in science" so many times, I start to doubt who I am actually listening to.

It's the same old story, the tricks of the centralized narrative never change... just a different coat of the same old medicine.

This set of scripts is really old-fashioned; it's just a different coat of the same old soup.

The manufactured consensus is far from the genuine consensus, and I dislike this the most.

It sounds like we're being given a history lesson, but the truth is just this cold and heartless. --- It's the same old "trust the experts" routine. The question is, who decides who is an expert? --- That's why I live on the blockchain — decentralization is the only way to truly breathe. --- Creating consensus vs. discovering consensus — this difference is too crucial... Most people are completely unaware. --- A single voice dominating multiple perspectives has been the game throughout history. Now it's just dressed in different clothes. --- Power never truly dissipates; it just changes into a new guise. We need to wake up. --- No wonder they're so afraid of cryptocurrency — dispersing discourse rights is like stealing their bread and butter.
