I applied for the Bank of Asia E-Account at China Construction Bank in Hong Kong on the 10th, and now there is a new update: their staff just called back to verify my date of birth, ID number, and occupation. After asking, they told me to wait for notification, either via email or SMS, and I hope I can successfully activate the account.
HSBC doesn't know what's going on and hasn't called me back for a follow-up. They didn't inform me if I failed, and I haven't received any news. But if they suddenly call me back, I won't know what occupation information I filled out. If the occupation info doesn't match what I provided, I might be rejected. Sigh, it's really hard to apply for a Hong Kong card these days.
