Investors Must Know: Trading Hours for the US Stock Market Are Changing

Starting from Sunday, March 9, the North American region will begin Daylight Saving Time (DST). This time change will significantly impact the opening hours of the US stock market.

With the transition from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time, financial markets in the US and Canada will move their clocks forward by one hour. Specifically, from Monday, March 10, the opening time of the US stock market will be 21:30 Beijing time. Previously, during Standard Time, the opening was at 22:30, but with DST in effect, it will be one hour earlier.

It is customary for North American Daylight Saving Time to start on the second Sunday of March each year, and this year, that falls on March 9. At 2:00 a.m. on that day, the clock will move forward by one hour to 3:00 a.m.

Those investing in the US stock market should pay close attention to this change in trading hours. To avoid missing trading opportunities, it is recommended to check the new market opening schedule in advance. Additionally, the timing of economic data releases will also differ from Standard Time, so be mindful of time discrepancies when reviewing key indicators.
