A Large ETH Transfer Occurred for the First Time in About 12 Years from a Pause Address During the Pre-Mining Era

**Around 7:39 AM Beijing Time on January 19, WhaleAlert, a blockchain data analysis platform, detected a large transaction. A pre-mining address that had been dormant for over 10 years suddenly became active, transferring 40,000 ETH.**

This 40,000 ETH is currently worth approximately $119.65 million USD at the current rate, but what’s interesting is its historical value fluctuation. When these ETH were held in 2015, their total valuation was only about $12,400 USD. In other words, the value has increased by over 9,600 times in 12 years.

**Why the Asset Movement During the Pre-Mining Period Draws Attention**

Transfers from pre-mining addresses allocated during Ethereum’s early stages are always a topic among market participants. Movements by long-term holders are often interpreted as signals of changes in price trends or on-chain sentiment. Especially, the activation of a dormant address after more than 10 years could indicate a shift in early investors’ asset management strategies.

Currently, ETH continues to function as a central asset in the market, and such large-scale transactions attract liquidity and market interest, making them significant events.
