Decentralized social app Towns introduces new EIP standards, empowering AI agents and account innovation

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】The decentralized social application Towns recently announced support for two important Ethereum Improvement Proposals. Among them, EIP-8004 provides a standardized framework for discovering, selecting, and interacting with autonomous AI agents across ecosystems, enabling trustless collaboration between AI agents in different applications. EIP-7702 introduces a new transaction type that allows traditional externally owned accounts (EOAs) to set executable code—either permanently or in a temporary mode. The implementation of these two proposals will further expand the interaction boundaries between accounts and smart contracts within the Ethereum ecosystem.

AI agent cross-ecosystem collaboration is indeed interesting, but since EOA can hold code... could this introduce another security risk?

Towns, this move is pretty good. With EIP-8004 handling AI agent interoperability, we finally don't have to operate separately anymore. Can EOA run code now? This opens up many new account-based gameplay options. EIP-7702 should have been here long ago. Let me think about how to arbitrage... Another wave of infrastructure updates. Let's see who can actually put them into use. Cross-chain collaboration for AI agents feels more innovative than just account upgrades.

AI agent cross-ecosystem collaboration? Sounds pretty good, but I wonder if it will actually be as smooth as the official claims.

AI agent cross-ecosystem collaboration is indeed interesting, but to be honest, I'm a bit confused about the temporary model EIP-7702. How exactly does its working mechanism operate?

Towns' recent moves are quite impressive, with EIP-8004 and 7702 launched together, directly making AI agents cross-chain collaboration a reality? But to be honest, while this kind of standard framework is good, how many projects can really use it? EOA upgrade allows code execution, feeling like stepping back into the realm of smart contracts—are they planning to merge the two? This update seems to push the ecosystem forward, but I wonder if it will just be another technical showcase.
