Discontinuation and Regulation: Tether discontinued official support for EURT at the end of 2025 due to the implementation of MiCA regulation rules in the European Union. The company's focus has shifted to alternatives that fully comply with the new European standards.
Loss of Parity (Depeg): Currently, EURT shows a strong devaluation relative to its original target of 1€. On January 10, 2026, the token is trading below the expected value (estimates indicate values around $0.30 to $0.60 USD), reflecting low liquidity and lack of confidence after the removal of major exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken.
Declining Adoption: Trading volume has drastically decreased, and the asset has been removed from most platforms operating in the European Economic Area (EEE) to make way for regulated options, such as EURC from Circle.
