Abstract generation in progress

Cable One Inc. (CABO) is undergoing a significant executive reshuffle, with James Holanda set to become the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and Board member. Holanda’s appointment marks the end of an era, as he will assume leadership following Julia Laulis’s retirement from her dual roles as Chair and CEO. The transition is expected to be finalized by March 31, 2026, giving Holanda time to wrap up his existing commitments. In the interim, Chief Financial Officer Todd M. Koetje will oversee operations as Interim CEO, ensuring continuity during the changeover period.

James Holanda Brings Decades of Industry Expertise

With over 35 years embedded in the cable and broadband sector, Holanda carries substantial credentials to the top post. Most recently, he spent 15 years helming Astound Broadband as Chief Executive Officer, establishing himself as a seasoned operator in competitive markets. His resume showcases a diverse trajectory through the industry’s major players: he previously led Choice Cable TV of Puerto Rico, held the President position at Patriot Media in Central New Jersey, and spent formative years at industry giants Comcast and Charter Communications. At Comcast, he accumulated a decade of experience, while his five-year tenure at Charter covered accounting, finance, business operations, and strategic roles—providing him a well-rounded foundation across multiple functional areas.

Mary Meduski Elevated to Independent Chair Role

Running parallel to Holanda’s appointment, Mary E. Meduski has been elected to serve as Independent Chair of the Board, effective January 1, 2026. Meduski’s elevation comes after seven years as a Cable One Board member, having joined in 2019. Her most recent capacity on the Board was Lead Independent Director, positioning her as an internal choice for the chair position. The move reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining governance stability while executing its leadership transition.

This executive shuffle underscores Cable One’s strategy to inject experienced leadership into the CEO role while strengthening board independence and oversight mechanisms for the transition period ahead.
