Contrasting with short-term price speculation, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has painted an inspiring technological vision for the network's long-term development. He recently announced that with ZK-EVM entering the alpha stage of production-level performance and PeerDAS (Data Availability Sampling) technology being launched on the mainnet, Ethereum is simultaneously gaining the three key elements of "high bandwidth, consensus, and decentralization."
Vitalik stated that this means Ethereum is practically solving the "blockchain trilemma" and transforming into a new form of high-performance decentralized network. According to his outlook, starting in 2026, the Gas limit without relying on ZK-EVM will be increased first, and we will see the operation of the first ZK-EVM nodes; by 2027-2030, ZK-EVM will become the primary method for block validation, bringing a further significant increase in Gas limit.
