A leading exchange has announced an upgrade to the funding rate settlement mechanism for perpetual contracts. Starting from 8:00 PM on January 2, 2026, USDⓈ-M perpetual contracts will implement a new rate settlement rule—when the absolute value of the funding rate remains at 0.025% or below for 16 consecutive settlement periods, the settlement frequency will be adjusted from once every hour to once every four hours. This means that during periods of stable market rates, the cost calculation cycle for contract traders will be extended, helping to reduce the costs associated with high-frequency trading. This adjustment aims to improve the perpetual contract market mechanism and enhance the user trading experience.

Optimizing fee rates again? Honestly, it's still about trying to retain those high-frequency users.

Ha, it's all about "optimization," which basically means trying to keep those high-frequency trading whales.

Sigh, another fee reduction? Is this really happening or are they just trying to fool us again?

Alright, finally showing some conscience. High-frequency traders, it's time to celebrate.
