The truth about Ripple selling XRP: Infrastructure development is the long-term goal

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】Many people criticize Ripple for selling大量 XRP to fund acquisitions, but they haven’t seen the full picture. Ripple’s true goal is not to replace the value of XRP by selling coins, but to pave the way for XRP to become a global bridge asset through acquisitions, licensing, and institutional partnerships. In simple terms, it’s about building infrastructure.

This long-term approach is similar in spirit to some staking platforms. They all emphasize the concept of “active patience”—not rushing to arbitrage quickly, but providing stable USD returns (from real business operations) to ensure effective capital allocation over a long application period. In other words, using genuine earnings to lock in long-term commitments rather than relying on short-term speculation.

Looking at Ripple’s strategy this way becomes much clearer: once the infrastructure is in place, XRP’s liquidity and use cases will follow.

Ha, it sounds pretty good, but selling is selling. Changing the way you say it doesn't change the essence. By the time the infrastructure is fully in place, the coins will have already been crushed. It'll be too late to regret then. I've heard this set of logic too many times. Every time, it's about long-termism. But what happens? Institutions make huge profits while retail investors suffer losses. Real returns? Uh, I only see real selling pressure. But on the other hand, at least they have a plan, which is better than some projects, right?

You're right, many people have misunderstood Ripple's strategy; selling coins is just superficial effort. Actually, I'm just worried that once the infrastructure is in place, no one will use XRP. The phrase "positive patience" sounds comfortable, but what about real returns? You need real money. Wait, this logic is the same as some staking scams, all just pie in the sky. Is Ripple moving too slowly? Can the pace keep up with the market? Having complete infrastructure is a prerequisite, but the prerequisite is that XRP itself must be valuable.

Crazy to sell coins and still claim long-termism, I just laugh... How many years until the infrastructure is complete, when will that be? How many years have we heard Ripple's rhetoric, and what’s the result? Still stuck in the SEC lawsuit. Every day "being proactive and patient," but the truly patient retail investors have already been wiped out. This is just a fundraising story; don’t talk to me about bridge assets. If XRP really has such prospects, why does it still need continuous fundraising to sustain itself? It will take another five years for the infrastructure to be fully in place, and investors will have already left. This kind of talk works on new retail investors, but we old-timers have heard it too many times. Basically, it’s still about buying time, and in the end, there might be nothing at all.

Sounds good, but I still think Ripple is digging a hole for retail investors. Thinking it has a future right now is like betting that Ripple won't run away. Ripple's move is actually diluting your holdings. Wait, positive patience? Then why not just buy US bonds directly? Starting to raise funds before the infrastructure is ready is a bit backwards. After all that, isn't it just trying to get us to take the fall?

Basically, Ripple is playing a long-term game, while we short-term traders are still struggling with selling coins. They already see ten years ahead. The infrastructure-first approach is actually the thinking of traditional big companies—burning money to build the road, and then sitting back to wait for the profits. XRP isn't popular now because the ecosystem hasn't developed yet. Once the payment network is fully established, institutions will naturally rush to use it. The question is, how many can wait until that day?
